How long does it take for my mailbox to be hand-painted and shipped?
When your order comes in via email, I get to work on it right away. Usually it takes two weeks (sometimes three weeks — depending on how complex the design is.) from start to finish to take a blank mailbox to a unique design. I hand-pack your order and ship it to you via the good ol' United States Postal Service.
What type of paint is used on my mailbox and will it hold up under the weather and sun?
Sun & weather will take its toll on any painted surface eventually. But I've tried to put together the best solution to allow for the greatest flexibility in the design and still have a hearty finish that will hold up well. My solution has been to use acrylic paints because they allow me the greatest flexibility in painting the designs. When the design is completed I put two coats of polyurethane for protection from the weather. Then I spray three coats of an ultra-violet ray protecting finish to slow the fading effect of sunlight.
